Kinect for Xbox 360

What a ride.  And, what an honor.  We had the incredible responsibility of telling part of the Kinect for Xbox 360 launch story.  From being exposed to the technology early on in the demo documentary we did about Peter Molyneux and Lionhead’s early work on Kinect in 2009, to Steve Ballmer’s public introduction of Kinect at CES in early 2010, to the Launch of Kinect at the End of 2010.

We did short and long form documentary introductions of the technology that revealed the passion of the developers and peeked behind the scenes.  We got an eye on the launch and marketing experiences.  We also documented responses of some of the earliest users of Kinect in their own homes. We did this by piloting Kinect with ten different family groups to show and discuss their experience as part of the National documentary.

With well over fifty different shoots on the project, it was simply an incredible experience to simultaneously support and follow the amazingly successful launch of Kinect.  Thanks to Todd Holmdahl and Alex Kipman from the Kinect and hardware teams at Xbox.  Much thanks to the marketing and video team at Xbox for their trust and collaboration and the great strides and stretches that everyone made.  And special thanks to Don Mattrick and his vision at Xbox to expand the platform for gaming and entertainment.
